Three others were seriously injured in the violent act on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

The chief constable added, “We have also been advised that one of the three victims currently receiving treatment has also suffered a firearm injury, which is fortunately non-fatal. It is believed both victims were close together at the entrance, as worshippers acted bravely to stop the assailant from gaining entry.”
